Annual General Meeting and Dinner,
Friday 20 February 2004
The AGM and the
dinner dance will take place at the Hilton Warwick on Friday 20th February, the
same day as the trade and competitor day at the International Historic
Motorsport Show being held at the NAC in Stoneleigh, near Leamington Spa.
The AGM will start at 6pm (finishing at
7.30 or before !) and the dinner will be at 8.30pm. In order to provide the
best quality of food and the best choice for individuals, the format of the
dinner will be a self service three course affair with the main course being a
carvery with special diet options.
Dancing and drinking will be to the accompaniment of Don
Law's Band - The Roadrunners (or the Zimmerframe Quintet) - either way, we
are extremely grateful for his support.
The
event is open to all members partners and guests.
An email with more details of the event and a booking form is
being sent on Friday 16th January. Please respond as soon as possible -

Win Percy
Many of you will have heard of Win Percy's lifting accident some
time ago and will be distressed to hear that he is, for the moment, wheelchair
bound.
However,
we are delighted to report that he is managing one Gary Pearson (!) in the BRDC
championship in 2004 and, if many of his supporters have their way, will be
racing again in the not too distant future.
You will also be very pleased to
know that the Club has made him the very first Honorary Member as such
an outstanding driver and ambassador for the wonderful Group C
cars.

Silverstone Press Test Day Report -
November 2003
We took advantage of a
full test day at Silverstone International Circuit to invite MotorSport and
Autosport to test some of the more modest and yet historic Group C cars. The
idea was to promote the ownership of lower budget cars in an attempt to attract
greater ownership and thus larger grids.
We also wanted to promote the
club after what has been a very good first year at a time when many racing
'series' have struggled to survive.
Thanks to John and Gary Pearson
we were able to field four cars for them to test. In addition we took the
TakeFuji 962 for general interest and a photo shoot for Classic and
Sportscar.
We
hope to have articles in MotorSport and Classic and Sportscar in the
March/April issue.

A1-Ring Austria 29-31 August 2003
We have now negotiated a race weekend at the A1 Ring with two
thirty minute races, one on Saturday and one on Sunday plus a thirty minute
free practice and thirty minute qualifing period on Saturday morning.
In addition
there is a extra cost package comprising a fifty minute test session on Friday
afternoon and the allocation of garage space for the whole weekend at
£165.

August Race latest
News
Unfortunately we lost the
Snetterton race due to an all too familiar quirk of the British Motorsport
scene ! We have had an offer to race at the A1 Austria on the weekend of the
30/31st August

Silverstone Test day &
Snetterton
The Silverstone test day is
in conjunction with the HGPCA (Historica Grand Prix Cars Association) and takes
place on the Silverstone National Circuit on Thursday 10th April 2003. Please
see 2003 calendar for more detail.
The
Nurburgring weekend has been replaced by Snetterton on August 23rd-24th,
details to follow. See later news item 29/5/03 - may be A1 Austria
!

First Full
Meeting
The first full meeting of the
Group C/GTP Racing club will be held on Saturday 15th February 2003 at the
White Horse pub in Silverstone village, starting at 12 noon and finishing
around 6pm. All aspects of the club operation will
be discussed, members will be enrolled and a new management committee (the
directors) will be elected.
If you are a Group C/GTP owner/driver or race preparation
employee wishing to be an active member of the club, please register
